For more than eight years, he has served as a Fire Chief, leading teams in high-pressure environments, coordinating emergency operations, and supporting excellence in fire prevention, incident response and operational preparedness.
His international operational experience includes participation in wildfire suppression missions, working alongside multinational teams in demanding environments and adapting to diverse operational frameworks. He brings a practical, field-based perspective to crisis coordination, disaster risk reduction and resilience-building.
Ilie is actively involved in European and international cooperation initiatives focused on disaster resilience, climate adaptation and innovation in emergency management. He contributes to projects aimed at strengthening preparedness and response capabilities, including the development of practical solutions, training approaches and collaborative frameworks for emergency services and public authorities.
He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the RESIST Project, contributing to international cooperation on climate resilience, innovation, science and technology, and disaster risk management.
